I am hosting a baby shower this weekend and have been prepping all week. The theme is The Very Hungry Caterpillar, and I'm pleased with my first attempt at cake pops! More pictures to come, but for now, a little preview.

homemade braided calzone

We didn't start diets this new year...

I saw a braided calzone on Pinterest and tried it out with a basic tomato sauce and mozarella filling. Yum! Patrick thought it would be fun to fill with lasagna. The noodles might be a little overboard, but I'm planning to try a few variations (pesto with ricotta, and Italian sausage with spinach) for a little shindig I'm hosting tomorrow (so excited to catch up with Linden friends). I'm not sure why I'm often inspired to try new recipes when people are coming over, it makes more sense to play it safe and make something I'm good at. Oh, well. Cheese and bread can't go wrong. Right?
